Give us a call at (308) 436-7433 or stop in to ask about reserving the Community Room. We will have you fill out a request form (or we will fill it out for you over the phone) and you will sign that form when you come to use the room or when picking up a key.

There is no charge for using the Community Room, but charges may be assessed if any damage has occurred during your use of the room or if special cleaning is required.
Can the Community Room be used when the library is not open?

Items Available for Use:
Smart TV
We have a 75″ flat screen smart TV that is mounted to the wall of the Community Room.
Laptops
Two laptops are available for public use in the Community Room. They are equipped with Firefox and Chrome, as well as Microsoft Office suite.
Owl Video-Conferencing Camera
If the Community Room is to be used for a hybrid (in-person and virtual) meeting, we have an Owl camera that will turn toward whoever is speaking so the virtual attendees can see the speaker well.
Projector
If a patron would prefer to project a presentation onto the wall instead of utilizing the smart TV, we have a projector available as well that can be set up in the Community Room.
Carousel Slide Projector
While capturing images onto slides seems to be a thing of the past, many of those old slides still exist. If patrons have some that they would like to view on a projection, we have a projector that can be used in the Community Room or checked out by library card holders for use outside of the library.
Magnifier Viewer
Sometimes documents have print that is small and difficult to read. In the Community Room, we have an Onyx Video Magnifier that enlarges text and displays it on a monitor for easier reading.
Microfiche/film Reader
The ST ViewScan allows you to view microfilm or microfiche. Using the ViewScan software, you can email, print, or save the microfilm/fiche images. Speak with a staff member about using this machine and about any questions you have as you work with it.
Scanner
Our staff can always help you scan documents using the copy machine by the circulation desk, but if you have a significant number of pages or images you’d like to scan, we also have a scanner available in our community room. As long as the room is available, you can spread your documents on the table and take your time to scan them yourself.
Printer
If you are wanting to print images from the microfilm reader or documents you’ve scanned, you can do so from the computer in the Community Room because it has an attached printer.
Typewriter
With the invention of computers, the use of typewriters has gone to the wayside, but there are still some things you may want to do that could be easier accomplished manually on the typewriter. If that is the case, we have one available for you to utilize.
Whiteboard
If you choose to utilize the Community Room for a meeting and you need a whiteboard in order to write down words for all to see, or maybe you are having a game night and want to play a game such as Pictionary, we have a whiteboard attached to the wall that you would be welcome to use. Speak to a staff member if you need dry erase markers or an eraser.
Tables and Chairs
We have a large number of tables and chairs available in the Community Room for you to use when you reserve the room. Visit with staff when you reserve the room about scheduling time if you need to set up and take down tables for your event/meeting.
