Maker Space

What is the Maker Space?

The Maker Space is a place in the library where members can use some of our specialized tools to make and create something special. You can utilize any of the equipment we have in our Maker Space area by talking to one of our helpful staff and filling out a form stating that you agree to the terms of our Maker Space policy.

How do I use the Maker Space?

One of our staff can usually assist you in getting started with the equipment in the Maker Space. We can also answer any questions that you have throughout the process. Some of the equipment is relatively simple to use while other items can prove a bit more challenging. Our staff will do their best to help you.

Equipment for Use in the Maker Space:

Cricut Explore Air 3

The Cricut Explore Air 3 is a precision cutting tool. You can use it to make vinyl decals, full color stickers, apparel, and more. We make a lot of our library displays using the Cricut.

Cricut EasyPress 3

The Cricut EasyPress 3 is a heating tool for pressing designs onto apparel and other items. Usable with iron-on sheets, infusible ink, and sublimation products.

Button Maker (2.25 inch)

Our button maker offers patrons the ability to make 2.25 inch buttons of their own design.

Book Binder

Our Rayson TD132 book binding machine will punch holes in your pages for clamp binding, spiral binding, or book ring binding. It will also hold the clamp binding in place while you put the paper on it, and it will squeeze the clamp binding to clamp it shut.

Paper Cutter

Our guillotine style paper cutter will cut and trim paper up to 15 inches long. The blade is sharp and can cut through 15 pages of standard paper quite smoothly. The arm has a shield over it for safety.

Electric Stapler

Our powerful electric stapler has 7 different depths of stapling. You can staple close to the top of the paper or much farther in. Check the setting on the side before you use it to make sure the staple goes where you want it.
